Every Saturday and Sunday evening the riverside in Phnom Penh is turned into a walking street.  Traffic is banned and food stalls, shops, music, dance takes over.  He has been extremely successful especially for local people who go there in the thousands especially if the weather is good.

It has made the area very safe as on other nights it can be a little seedy.  But to stop the cars and motorbikes requires a huge number of police and security.  Some photos from a Sunday evening in August 2026.
