Long Xuyen
Long Xuyen was intended just to be a stopover. But it was great. I contemplated staying a second night but decided against it because there are so many places to see.
I stayed at the which cost 310000 dong or $11.78. Again it is on the outskirts of town which meant a taxi ride of $3.10 into the city. Dinner with two beers was 136000 dong or $5.17. So my $25 budget is going well
Canton Assembly Hall
This temple also known as Ong Bac Pagoda is quite stunning. It was established in the 19th Century by Chinese immigrants and is full of colour and intricate carvings.
Music
While walking back to my hotel I came across a music venue. It was a coffee shop so there was no alcohol and I find that weird at 8pm at night. But coffee culture is big here. The music was great.
