Todays ride was much more pleasant that yesterday. There was quire a bit of cloud cover and the ride was only 60.5 km. That extra distance can be a bit of a killer. Riding 60km is pleasant but riding 90 km is a challenge.
Today’s ride was on some lovely roads but also required some travel on some very bust dual carriageways.
I am only one day away from Ho Chi Minh. My first objective on this journey. Staying in Gems Hotel 2 which is a bit more expensive at $21 but is close to town.
Rivers
A constant as you ride across the Mekong Delta are rivers and bridges. Big rivers and small rivers like this one. Very few of the rivers are unused by other boats or buildings. and there are bridges everywhere. Some maginificent, come small and insignificant.
Chua Buu Long Pagoda
Buddhist Temples and Christian churches are everywhere across the Mekong Delta. I stopped at this small Buddhist Temples. The monk present who warmly welcomed me.
Long An
Long An has a couple of streets where every shop is selling from the footpath or onto the street. Not one shop was not using the footpath. The chaos was incredible with motorbikes, the occasional car, and people all crowded into the narrow street. After dinner the same street was completely empty and everything was cleared away. The last photo shows that.
