Day 3 was 88 km long and hot. While it was relatively flat the road in places was not the best. I stayed in a village called Chhlong. A room at the Udom Guest House was only $12.50. The route was alongside the Mekong River most of the day.
The Mekong
At one point the Mekong became extremely wide due to a number of islands. It certainly is a very impressive river.
Another Bridge
This bridge is at Steung Trang and again is another impressive bridge.
A Mosque
While cycling along there was an intersting mosque so I stopped to take some photos.
Not realising that there was a school there also and all the children came running out to welcome me. I did feel a tittle sorry for the teachers.
A sunset
A lovely sunset over the Mekong and a nearby temple. A lovely way to end what had been a demanding day.
Day 4
This day was much easier. Only 32 km to Kratie and arriving before lunch. Brunch was one of my favourite Khmer foods. Grilled pork and rice. Forgot to get a photo. It was very nice for 10000 riels (US$2.50).
There was another huge bridge across the Mekong which luckily I did not have to ride across.
Kratie
Accommodation was in the Heang Khanna Guest House. $US16 per night with WiFi and Air Con. Just 50m from the river.
